Dr. Lawrence DuBuske
Dr. Lawrence DuBuske received both his Bachelor of Science degree and Medical Doctorate degree each awarded with Distinction from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois where he also served as President of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society chapter at Northwestern University Medical School. Following a residency in internal medicine at Barnes Hospital, Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri Dr. DuBuske completed fellowships in Allergy/Immunology and Rheumatology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston.
Dr. DuBuske is the past President of Interasma, the International Association of Asthmology, and has served as President of the American Association of Certified Allergists from 2004 to 2006. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians; Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians in addition to being a member of the American Thoracic Society, the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, European Respiratory Society and the American Society of Microbiology. He is also a 2004 recipient of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Distinguished Fellow Award.
Dr. DuBuske has received honorary diplomas from the Polish Allergy Society and the Belarusian Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology and has honorary Doctorates from the Ukrainian National Medical University, Kiev, Ukraine and the Crimean State Medical University, Simferopol, Crimea, Ukraine, in addition to an honorary professorship from the Crimean State Medical University and an honorary professorship from the National Research Center - Institute of Immunology, Ministry of Health, Moscow, Russia.
Currently Dr. DuBuske is a contributing editor and reviewer for Allergy and Asthma Proceedings and International Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, a reviewer for Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and serves on the Editorial Boards of Allergology and Clinical Immunology; Allergy, Hypersensitivity, Asthma and Treatments in Respiratory Medicine (formerly American Journal of Respiratory Medicine), and has served as a supplement editor for Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Dr. DuBuske has authored over 200 articles and abstracts in Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; Allergy Proceedings; Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology; Journal of Immunology and other professional journals in addition to numerous textbook chapters.
Dr. DuBuske has served as Clinical Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts where he has served on the faculty for 23 years. He has also served, in the past, as the Director and Co-director and Education Coordinator of the Allergy Fellowship Training Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and is Director of the Immunology Research Institute of New England in Gardner, MA and previously served as Consultant in Allergy, Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Ilona DuBuske
Dr. DuBuske recently concluded a Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she trained under some of the leading allergists in the world including Professor David Bernstein, Allergy Fellowship Director and past President of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and a leader in allergen immunotherapy research and Professor Jonathan Bernstein, incoming President of INTERASMA, the Global Asthma Association and a leader in asthma biologics studies and urticaria treatment at University of Cincinnati Medical Center; and Professors Amal Assa’ad, a leading researcher in food allergy and desensitization; Marc Rothenberg, a world authority on eosinophilic disorders; Juan Pablo Abonia a national expert on eosinophilic esophagitis; and Kimberly Risma, a leader in drug allergy assessment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. DuBuske has published original research on unique immune deficiencies; desensitization to complex biologic agents and spearheaded a team of investigators studying novel treatments for chronic urticaria. She has a passion for food allergy; drug allergy; urticaria; allergen immunotherapy; and diagnosis and treatment of allergic rhinitis and asthma.
Dr. DuBuske graduated with Distinction from the Honors Program in Biology at the University of New Hampshire where she graduated Magna Cum Laude was selected for membership in the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She later received her doctorate in medicine as a physician from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. Dr. DuBuske has completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Massachusetts-affiliated St. Vincent’s Hospital, in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Prior to becoming a physician Dr. DuBuske was a Registered Nurse, working at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. She is an author on multiple medical publications, having served as a Research Assistant in the past in the Department of Allergy and Immunology at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Woman’s Hospital. She has an expertise in aerobiology, having been trained in pollen and spore identification.
In addition to medicine, Dr. DuBuske is an underwater photographer who enjoys capturing fashion, beauty and vibrant sensuality of the underwater world. Her artwork has been displayed at fine art exhibits in the past, including most notably at an Art Soiree event at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Georgetown, Washington DC.
Dr. DuBuske enjoys international travel having a special affinity for the Bahamas where she is very active providing medical supplies and healthcare assistance to the local community. She is a certified scuba diver with a passion for underwater photography.
Coming to the United States over 20 years ago from Ukraine, she is very well known in the Russian-speaking community.
